Macquarie University Campus
Macquarie University is located at approx. 20 kilometres north west of Sydney, next door to a new technology park and on the fringes of a national park. The University is on the Epping-Chatswood railway line, currently under construction, but expected to be open at the time of the conference. In addition, there are direct bus links from and into the City, as well as from and to the Epping and Chatswood railway stations.
All university buildings have an alphanumeric name such as E7A, C5C or W5B. The first letter is usually E, C or W, denoting respectively East, Central and West. Occasionally, E runs over into F, and W runs over into X or even Y. The middle number gives some indication of where the building is in the north-south direction, with a lower number denoting south and a higher number denoting north. The last letter identifies the different buildings that share the same first letter and middle number.
The conference will be held in building X5B, on the far west corner of the campus. The Travelodge and the MGSM are located at E11A and at E14D respectively, on the north eastern corner of the campus. Dunmore Lang College does not have a code, as it is not officially part of the University. It is located near the south eastern corner of the University.
Macquarie Shopping Centre
The Macquarie Shopping Centre is a 15-minute walk away from the conference venue, and offers a cinema complex as well as shopping and dining possibilities.
