Major in a European Language

Degree students who wish to major may do so in two different ways, according to prior knowledge at the time of enrolment.

Those who have no prior knowledge of their language of choice, or whose knowledge is not sufficient to warrant admission into a post-HSC study pattern, willl follow the Undergraduate Study Pattern XXX01 (Beginners).

Those who have completed HSC level language study (continuers band 4 to 6 or extension), or who have equivalent language skills will follow the Undergraduate Study Pattern XXX02 (Post-HSC).

General requirements for both study patterns as part of a Bachelor of Arts program are the same:

Minimum number of credit points 68
Maximum number of credit points at 100 level 30
Minimum number of credit points at 300 level 18

Students who do not wish to major in a European language may enrol in any of our units, as long as relevant prerequisites have been met. Some units have no prerequisites at all.
