COURSEWORK OR DISSERTATION STIPENDS – UNIVERSITÉ MONTPELLIER 3

Following the signing of an exchange agreement between Macquarie University and the Université Paul-Valéry (UPV) Montpellier 3, UPV advises that the Région Languedoc-Roussillon makes two coursework or dissertation stipends available to Macquarie students wishing to undertake part of their study towards a MQ postgraduate degree at UPV. Each stipend is worth EUR 400 per month and lasts for 4 months. The offer is open to Australian citizens and permanent residents of Australia. Working knowledge of French is a prerequisite.

One stipend will be available from January 2010, the other one from either September 2010 or January 2011. Applications are welcomed from students enrolled in a Masters or PhD course in European Languages, English, Linguistics or other fields. The successful candidates will be required to be in Montpellier for the duration of the stipend and will be provided with accommodation in a university studio (in the order of EUR250 per month, payable out of the stipend). They will be allowed to engage in paid employment to a maximum of around 60 hours per month while at UPV.

Applications will be screened at Macquarie University and recommendations for the stipends forwarded to UPV. Please submit applications (e-mail as well as hard copy) to A/Prof Bert Peeters (Bert.Peeters@mq.edu.au), Department of International Studies, by September 15, for study in Montpellier commencing in January, and by May 15, for study in Montpellier commencing in September. These deadlines take into account deadlines set by UPV for reception of recommendations.
