Undergraduate Degrees
Students have the option of either completing a degree in European Languages or taking individual units. Units may be taken as part of a number of different degrees and awards, the most common of which are the Bachelor of Arts (BA), the Bachelor of International Studies (BInt), and various combined degrees with an Arts or an International Studies component (e.g. BBA/BA). Undergraduate units can also be studied as part of a Certificate in Languages or a Diploma in Languages, which give an international edge to any degree undertaken at Macquarie, but particularly in areas such as Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Law or Media. Before completion of a program, it is possible to transfer from the certificate to the diploma, and from the diploma to a bachelor’s degree. The CertLang and the DipLang are undergraduate HECS programs.
For those who have completed a major as part of a degree program, there is a possibility to specialize even further in European Languages, by undertaking an Honours program to progress towards postgraduate research (MPhil or PhD).
