CRO330 Croatian Drama, Theatre, Film and Media

This unit is designed to provide an overview of Croatian media and its language in both synchronic and diachronic form as well as overview of contemporary Croatian film and drama as well as theatre.
                                           
The first part of the unit provides a comprehensive study of written and electronic media in Croatia, and in the Australian Croatian community.  The central aim of the study of Croatian media is to master language skills and to provide an opportunity for students to acquire an insight into the content and structure of Croatian written media (newspapers and journals). The stress is placed on current affairs and its interpretation in Croatian.

The unit also provides an overview of Croatian drama, theatre and film. It offers a number of case studies which will enable students to widen their knowledge about a selection of issues  closely connected with Croatian contemporary society and the history of Croatian Culture with the emphasise on contemporary situation.

This unit discusses a number of different topics and forms of expression, and provides an insight into different aspects of contemporary Croatian culture.
