CRO360 Advanced Croatian III
Welcome to CRO 360, Advanced Croatian III. This is a first semester unit which discusses Croatian literary texts and comprehension skills on the highest level. The unit offers revision of Croatian grammar fosters some specific and difficult points of Croatian grammar and initiates translating and interpreting of some complex phraseology. The grammar, pronunciation exercises, comprehension and vocabulary exercises are continuously reviewed.
This unit also helps you with developing basic skills for translating and interpreting, which will be the major focus of the CRO 365 unit. This unit offers grammatical and lexical tools that will enable you to undertake complex translating and interpreting tasks. Translating and interpreting of literary works is also part of this unit.
Emphasis is put on the following major issues:
- Reading comprehension on highest levels
- Writing complex texts and dealing with problem solving situations in Croatian
- Sentence and text structure in Croatian
- Asking and answering complex questions
- Understanding and discussing complex texts
- Difficult points of Croatian grammar (irregular verbs, fleeting A, long and short plural, word order in sentence, subject/predicate/object, composed sentences, orthography).
The unit will help students with language proficiency and make them more confident in new linguistic situations. It will also help students in language proficiency when language is used for academic purposes.
