GMN287 Intermediate German I
Welcome to Intermediate German I,
the first in a sequence of two intermediate German units. It has been prepared for students with a basic knowledge of German. Typically, those students would have completed Introductory German I, II and III or would have studied German for their HSC (extended or continuers band 4, 5 or 6 German or equivalent). The unit is based on a textbook which is communicative in its approach, so there is strong emphasis on listening and speaking as well as reading and writing skills. GMN287 is offered in distance education mode, using online delivery of materials as well as computer-mediated communication. Students will be able to use the unit's bulletin board for discussions with one another and the unit convener. For external students, an on-campus session will be held, where students will have the opportunity to meet their lecturer and fellow students, to revise the material covered so far and to further practise their pronunciation and speaking skills
