The aim of this German Reading Course is to introduce you to the main principles of the German language. You will develop a basic vocabulary and insight into grammatical structures, practise language learning techniques, use relevant tools such as dictionaries (both general and specialist dictionaries) and computer-based translation programs and other materials. You will acquire a reading strategy enabling you to unravel and translate more complex texts.
For GMN 295 no previous knowledge of the language is required. GMN 295 or some equivalent is the prerequisite for the follow-up course GMN 296 in 2nd semester.
