MCD226 Intermediate Macedonian I

This unit is a continuation of MCD 104 - Introductory Macedonian I and MCD 105 - Introductory Macedonian II with greater emphasis on theoretical grammar and basic grammatical analysis. It is designed to bring the students with a basic/intermediate knowledge of Macedonian up to the intermediate level. It should be seen as a coherent whole with MCD 227 Intermediate Macedonian II, a unit in the second semester.

The grammatical material includes a general review of the material covered in MCD 104 and MCD 105, and focuses on the following areas: classification of parts of speech, morphology of nouns, adjectives and pronouns and their grammatical categories; an extensive study of the Macedonian verbal system (both finite and non-finite forms) with particular attention to aspect and tense.
